Tonight, we tried to use the BioPac to analyze the raw EMG data from our electrodes. We realized that even when we used our biceps to generate EMG signals, we saw an extremely insignificant difference between resting and flexing. Upon talking to Steven, who used EMG electrodes in his ESE 350 project, we learned that we could use an oscilloscope safely without the BioPac because there was no risk of back-current flow. We then decided to use simple batteries to power our MBed, test EMG ciruit, and sensors, which is ultimately how we wanted to power our system in its final form.
